Experience

Essential:

  • Proven experience as a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer, ideally within welding, fabrication, or heavy engineering environments.
  • Strong background in electrical fault finding, PLC diagnostics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Experience in developing and implementing PPM schedules and continuous improvement initiatives.

Desirable:

  • Experience servicing or repairing CNC cutting machines and weld robots.
  • Experience working across multi-site operations.
Description

Work Location: In-person
Travel: Regular visits to Bridgend, Wales – approximately twice per month

Responsibilities

Maintenance and Equipment Care

  • Maintain and implement preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules for all production equipment in line with regulatory, warranty, and insurance requirements.
  • Ensure all service, testing, and inspection activities comply with company quality and safety standards.
  • Manage and update maintenance records, logs, and internal software systems.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with equipment maintenance and servicing.
  • Liaise with sub-contractors to ensure service coverage and manage the approval process for new suppliers in collaboration with the Purchasing Department.

Breakdown Response and Support

  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, ensuring safe and timely resolution to minimise downtime.
  • Develop and maintain service plans that prevent repeat failures.
  • Support production teams during out-of-hours breakdowns or maintenance interventions.
  • Implement and enforce Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) safety procedures.

Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor machinery and equipment performance, identifying opportunities to improve safety, reliability, and productivity.
  • Evaluate equipment utilisation and advise management on performance optimisation.
  • Drive improvements to maintenance processes, stock control, and spares management.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Work closely with Production, Facilities, Safety, and Engineering teams to ensure maintenance and servicing activities are coordinated effectively.
  • Conduct site tours and maintain accurate records of supplier visits, maintenance actions, and outcomes.
  • Educate team members on appropriate channels for reporting maintenance issues and improvements.
Qualifications
  • Forklift licence or additional technical certifications.
